Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie
By Hillary
In a Hollywood where blondes have long dominated the screen, Megan Fox is an exotic looking brunette who proudly stands out in the crowd.
Though she is somewhat of a newcomer to Hollywood, Megan is known for speaking her mind about the entertainment industry. Unlike many actresses, she does not limit her comments to complimentary pleasantries about her co-stars, her roles and even her directors. Instead, she has often gotten into hot water for speaking off the cuff about almost any topic that comes to mind.
Because of her looks and her outspoken nature, it's no surprise that Megan Fox has often been compared to another raven haired star, Angelina Jolie. In a day and age when actresses fight for individuality and try their very best to not be lumped into a category with other stars, Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie can't seem to get away from each other in terms of career comparisons.
Though the two stars don't seem to necessarily agree with the comparisons their fans and critics draw between them, there are some similarities that cannot be denied.
Exotic Heritage: Megan Fox's ancestry is said to be a blend of Native American, French and Irish heritage. Meanwhile, Angelina's ancestors hail from Germany, Czechoslovakia, and France. Some reports even suggest that Angelina also has Native American roots from the Iroquois Indians.
Outspoken: Angelina has made a name for herself by being outspoken in matters ranging from religion, adoption and her relationships with her father, actor Jon Voight, and her boyfriend Brad Pitt. Angelina has also been outspoken about the plight of children in other countries and was even been named a UN Ambassador for her humanitarian work for children in countries such as Cambodia, Pakistan and Africa. Though Megan has not been in the public eye as long as Angelina, she has raised eyebrows by her thoughts on not necessarily being a role model and for her frank comments about director Micheal Bay, where she likened him to Hitler on the set of the Transformers movies.
Adventurous Roles: Though Megan Fox had been working to build a name in Hollywood for years, she did not receive widespread fame until she appeared in the action-adventure film Transformers in the summer of 2007. Angelina Jolie also received increased attention when she starred as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films, as well as in Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt
Sex Symbol Status: Both has been on the covers of many of the same magazines, including Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, Maxim, and GQ. Both have also racked up numerous fan awards such as FHM's "Sexiest Woman in the World" for Fox and Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive" for Jolie.
Tattoos: Both Megan and Angelina are famous for proudly sporting multiple tattoos. Unlike the demure actresses of yesteryear, they both proudly display their body ink on the red carpet, and have openly discussed the meaning behind their tattoos and why they are not opposed to getting more.
Though Angelina has kept mostly quiet on the subject of any similarities between she and Ms. Fox, Megan has been outspoken in her pleas that the media cease from any further comparisons between herself and Angelina. Megan has remarked that the repeated attempts to draw any parallels between her and Ms. Jolie are because of the media's "lack of creativity."
However, this has not put an end to media speculation that Megan Fox is the "next" Angelina Jolie, nor has there ceased to be speculation that Megan Fox will replace Angelina as Lara Croft if there are further installations in this successful film series.
