The Life of Megan Fox
By Hillary
Megan Fox was born in a small town in Tennessee in 1986, into a hardworking American family. Though her parents divorced early in her life, she and her sister were raised primarily by her mother and her stepfather. Megan enjoyed many of the activities that school children typically participate in, including dance lessons, acting classes, school choir, cheerleading and swim team.
She attended a private religious school, and went on to enroll in public high school. Though she loved performing, school proved to be a difficult time and setting for Megan, and she was teased and picked on by bullies on a regular basis. Megan has also referred to herself as a something of a tomboy during her school years, and admitted that she was more likely to get along better with her male coeds, instead of the girls she attended classes with.
As a young teenager, Megan got into talent and modeling competitions. She excelled in this arena, placing highly and winning several competitions. Though her looks were ideal for modeling, her height of five feet, six inches proved to be challenge for the runway, since most models are typically five foot nine and taller. But this didn't stop her from pursuing her dream of a career in the entertainment industry. Instead, she focused her attention solely on acting and persuaded her mother to move to California, so she could have a better chance at breaking into movies.
Once she settled in Hollywood, Megan Fox endured the challenges that many struggling actresses face on a daily basis. Her life was an unending stream of audition after audition. Finally, she received a break. In 2001 she was offered a small part in a movie with the Olsen twins that was titled Holiday In the Sun. After wrapping this film, Megan was able to audition with more confidence, knowing that others in Hollywood were starting to recognize her true talent.
Soon after, Megan Fox landed the role of Ione Starr in the television drama series, Ocean Avenue. Though the series only ran for 122 episodes, this proved to be good experience and exposure for Megan's acting career. After a stint of guest roles on well established shows such as What I Like About You and Two and a Half Men, Megan Fox had her biggest break to date. She was cast in the television series Hope & Faith, which gave her prime time exposure alongside the show's lead actresses, Kelly Ripa and Faith Ford.
Megan Fox gained further momentum in 2004 when she was cast in the movie Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, with another up and coming actress, Lindsay Lohan.
Finally, Megan's hard work paid off when she was cast as Shia LeBeouf's love interest and co-star in Micheal Bay's film adaptation of Transformers. Her role in the summer blockbuster and its subsequent sequel pushed Megan into the spotlight--the place she had worked for years to reach.
As she reached new heights of fame, people were calling her and asking her to appear in their films and Megan Fox now had the luxury of picking and choosing the roles she would like to play. Suddenly, the tables turned and multiple doors began to open for the young Tennessee native who had longed to be a star since very early in her childhood.
