Megan Fox as a Style Icon
By Debby
Most people know Megan Fox as the actress who gained widespread fame and recognition when she appeared in the Transformers movies alongside Shia LeBeouf. Seemingly out of nowhere, Megan emerged from obscurity and stepped into the spotlight as one of Hollywood's newest princesses of the silver screen.
One of the elements that people love about Megan Fox is her penchant for dramatic and elegant attire, whether she is on the red carpet or being photographed in her daily life.
Though she has often referred to herself as a tomboy in her childhood, her style today is anything but boyish. Megan Fox's womanly glamour grabs the attention of everyone from her fans to her costars and the paparazzi.
Not shy about her curvy figure, Megan accentuates her curves to fullest by wearing sleek, figure draping gowns in eye-popping bright colors and metallic hues. A great deal of her award show and film premiere looks are strapless and floor length, yet she shakes up the traditional formal wear scene by showing off her long legs with a slit in the side of her evening gowns.
Megan Fox has also admitted to being addicted to tattoos, and she has several of them decorating her body, including references to Shakespeare, a Chinese symbol, Marilyn Monroe's face, and the name of her ex-fiance and on-again-off-again boyfriend, Brian Austin Green. Though many people like to regale audiences with tales of the deep and thought out meanings behind their tattoos, Megan has suggested that her body art does not have as deep of a personal significance as people might think. Instead, in an interview with Lynn Hirschberg of the New York Times, she has said that her tattoos are somewhat "impulsive purchases."
Another defining feature of Megan Fox's personal style is her signature hairstyle. Her red carpet look alternates between carefully coiffed curls to sleek and understated pulled back buns and low ponytails. These styles both work well in giving her the refined, elegant look of a seasoned veteran in the acting community, something that helps Megan Fox build credibility, even though her career is still very young. She prefers to stick to dark hair color, in contrast to many of her acting peers, which has only helped her to set herself apart from them.
Megan Fox also highlights her multi-ethnic features by applying deep red and pink lipsticks, and lining her eyes with heavy, dark eyeliner.
All of these elements combined work together in making her a knockout on the red carpet, but her style is not all about the way she looks on the outside. She oozes confidences and security, which may be because of how supportive her family has been of her wanting to pursue a career in acting. From the time she was a little girl, until she moved to LA with her mother in her teens, Megan Fox's family helped provide her with the structured life she needed in order to compete in the entertainment industry.
Though she has admitted to feeling insecure at times, for the most part, Megan Fox plays the part of a cool and in control actress who sometimes seems much older than her actual age of 23. As she continues her career, it will be interesting to watch how her style matures and transforms over the years.
