Megan Fox's Red Carpet Glamour
By Amanda
Any starlet knows that the red carpet can be a brutal place. Actresses are known to work out for weeks in order to pour themselves into tiny, high fashion frocks. Yet, simply fitting into a designer gown is not a guarantee of success. Sometimes, an ill-advised look will flop on the red carpet and get ridiculed in blogs and magazines for weeks to come. Movie premiere fashion can be a precarious situation, but actress Megan Fox has put her best foot forward time and time again.
As the stars step out on the red carpet for various events, this young Hollywood starlet has captured the world's attention as a blossoming trendsetter who wears what she wants, when she wants. When other starlets step out in demure dresses, Megan Fox goes for the gusto in bright colors and bold makeup.
Her signature style is a combination of contemporary color and old school silhouettes. Whether she's decked out in a floor-sweeping purple satin Stuart Weitzman gown, a hot pink Armani Privé sheath, or an immaculate white toga-inspired drape by Kaufman Franco, Megan Fox looks great in an evening gown.
Her dark, shiny hair also makes her stand apart in a sea of other actresses who all seem to sport honey colored hair and golden highlights.
Though she wears a variety of shoes, including casual sandals in her daily life, her red carpet foot attire consists of painfully tall stilettos, which help to develop her image as a modern day glamour queen. Megan Fox's additions of bold accessories such as dangling earrings and waist cinching belts also help to add finishing touches to the overall look.
Yet, even mega stars like Megan Fox sometimes feel nervous about what they wear to formal events.
Though she projects extreme confidence in her appearance on the red carpet, Fox revealed to Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2009 that, "...In terms of how I look, I'm completely, hysterically insecure." Though her posture and facial expressions don't give the impression of a shrinking violet, Fox went on to add that she is also, "...self-loathing, introverted, and neurotic." Though she may feel insecure, her honesty is endearing, and may be a reason why she a red carpet darling.
Something different about Megan Fox than most other up-and-coming her actresses her age, is the collection of varied tattoos she has gotten. Instead of playing it safe and covering them up, she has appeared on the red carpet and in magazine photo spreads in clothing choices that draw attention toward, instead of away from her body ink. From a picture of Marilyn Monroe's face to her ex-fiance's name, Megan has admitted to the New York Times that she is "impulsive" about getting new tattoos.
And though she currently sports at least 8, she makes no promises that she won't add to her collection in the future, telling Cosmopolitan Magazine, "As soon as someone tells me not to get any more tattoos, I have this intense fire burning inside me to cover myself with them."
Though it likely Megan Fox may regret some of her body art in 20 or 30 years, her willingness to take risks is what is required to become a style icon who leaves a lasting impression. If her track record of good fashion choices continues, her style copycats are likely hoping that she will one day be willing to step into the design arena and share her fashion ideas with her adoring fans.
